Payments NZ have recently begun a project to support the industry through its’ progression to mobile payments.

The four objectives of the Project are to implement pan-industry rules, standards and principles for Mobile Payments which will:

  1. Achieve a minimum level of security, interoperability, reliability and usability
  2. Ensure the on-going integrity of the domestic payment system
  3. Ensure that all stakeholders and participants continue to maintain trust and confidence in the system
  4. Establish a sustainable rules, standards and principles framework for the Mobile Payments eco-system to enable on-going evolution and innovation.
