Who’s shaping the future of payments?

You can read a summary of highlights or watch the video recording of the full session.

Wednesday 23 June, 9.00am-10.30am – Online

Last year was transformational for the payments landscape as payment channels evolved to meet customer demand and companies responded to changing market conditions. In this first online session in The Hub 2021 Series, we delved into what organisations are influencing the future of payments and how they’re going about it.

Our Chief Executive Steve Wiggins opened the session followed by international keynote speaker Dave Birch. Dave is a world-renowned author, advisor and commentator on digital financial services. Beaming in from the UK, Dave provided an international perspective on payments, including what’s happening in the UK and Europe, the impact of COVID-19, and other challenges, opportunities and trends affecting payments in different jurisdictions around the world.

This keynote was followed by a panel who discussed the key players influencing the digital payments market now and the roles that these different parties play in shaping the future of the industry. Our panellists were Andy White, CEO of Australian Payments Network, Maxine Elliott, CEO of Paymark and Dave Birch. Facilitating the panel was John Ryan, Director General, Emerging Payments Association Asia. Together they gave insights into New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.
