Submission to the Commerce Commission on switching

Payments NZ has made an initial submission in response to the Commerce Commission’s market study draft report on personal banking services, which was published on 21 March 2024.
This first submission is focussed specifically on customers changing banks, also known as switching, and the rules and standards we have in place to enable this to happen.
We’ll respond in detail to other aspects of the Commerce Commission’s draft report, including the work of Payments NZ and the API Centre on open banking, in an adjacent submission to the Commission next month.
