We lead the industry in a highly progressive, self-governing environment to enable a world-class payments system for New Zealanders.

We do this by bringing together organisations from across the payments ecosystem to include the widest range of perspectives in considering the best ways to improve New Zealand’s payments system.

We encourage organisations in the payments industry to join us in shaping the future of New Zealand payments. This is what will ensure the system remains innovative, interoperable, efficient, open and secure, and that it is well placed to meet the challenges of the future.

Become a Participant

If you would like to exchange payments directly with other Participants in one or more of our clearing systems, and work with them to proactively and directly shape the future of our payment system, you can join us as a Participant. Find out more about becoming a Participant and who’s currently part of our clearing systems on the Participation page.

Become a Member

If full participation isn’t suitable for your organisation, you can join our membership programme. As a Member of Payments NZ, your organisation will be privy to the work we do and will be able to contribute to strategic discussions and hear about developments as they happen. Find out more about membership and who our current Members are on the Membership page.

Attend our industry events

We run a range of events to connect with the wider payments community, facilitating conversations and helping everyone get up to speed with payment matters.

The Hub is a networking event we run from time to time throughout the year to discuss current payments related topics. The Link brings together women who work in the payments industry. And every two years we run a premier conference for the payments industry called The Point. See the Events section for more information about our suite of events.

Join our mailing list to stay informed on industry news and our events.
