The Point 2016 – New Zealand’s premier payments conference

The Payments NZ team is excited to be holding our third biennial industry conference, The Point 2016, on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 November in Auckland.

Payments NZ holds a conference every two years to bring together the payments community to explore and debate how the industry can continuously evolve, enable market-led innovation and strengthen New Zealand’s payment system.

The Point is the only industry-wide payments conference held in New Zealand making it a must-attend for the payments community. This year we are expecting over 250 delegates who will be able to connect with local and international experts, strengthen business relationships, share in and contribute to important industry discussion, and learn valuable market intelligence from industry thought leaders.

Taking it to the next level

Our team is busy developing the conference programme which is designed to challenge the industry to take it to the next level so Kiwis can benefit from a world-class payments system.

Programme topics will include disruption and fragmentation, infrastructure and emerging platforms, innovation and technology, cyber-security, the customer experience, and more. These will be discussed by some of the best minds from the local and international payments community.

David Birch
David Birch is Director of Innovation for secure electronic transactions consultancy, Consult Hyperion. He has become an internationally recognised thought leader in digital identity and money, is ranked Europe’s most influential commentator on emerging payments and one of the top ten most influential voices in banking. The keynote presentation by David Birch is kindly sponsored by TSB Bank.

Paul Stoddart
Paul Stoddart is an internationally recognised speaker within the financial services and payments industry. With over 15 years’ experience including a number of senior roles with Barclays and the Bank of Scotland, Paul is now Managing Director of Strategy, Products, Marketing & Business Development for VocaLink in the UK. VocaLink is our Principal Sponsor.

Michael Moon
With more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services and payments industry, including work with American Express, Citi and the Commonwealth Bank, Michael Moon now leads the development of SWIFT’s payment business across Asia Pacific to deliver payment and settlement solutions in the high value and retail payments sectors, as well as global transaction banking and cash management.
